Why testers should hate finding defects
Empirical testing should demonstrate correctness. If it does not, analytical testing has already failed.
Every defect detected in empirical testing, that is by executing code after integration, causes cost, delay and risk that could have been avoided. Even in the best case, where the fix is quite trivial, retesting and regression testing are necessitated. More complex rework often requires complex, extensive revision of test design and implementation which diminishes the value and effectiveness of testing already done.
